Lemon, Strawberries, Basil and Mint Infused Water

In South Carolina, we quickly go from Winter to Summer.  It has been in the 80's here all week and super HOT.  What better way to cool off than with a refreshing lemon, strawberry, mint infused water.

Recipes (these can be altered with your own fruits of choice):
 Strawberry Lemon, Basil
Ingredients:
2 quarts of water
2 Lemons
8 Strawberries
A handful of Basil Leaves


Directions:
Slice lemons. Quarter strawberries. Tear basil leaves. Add ingredients to pitcher with ice and water. Refrigerate for an hour. 



Lemon Water with Fresh Mint
Ingredients:
2 quarts water
Juice of one lemon
2 lemons, thinly sliced
Ice
Few sprigs of mint



There are tons of different ways to add life to your water and many benefits to go along with it. You can try a variety of different fruits, mint, basil, etc to make your boring water a little more fun.




Lemons: help with digestion and aid in fighting wrinkles (hello!?)

Strawberries: dietary fiber helps with digestion, lowers blood pressure, helps overeating, anti-inflammatory

Mint:  headaches and nausea, digestion, respiratory disorders, skin care, oral care 

Limes: skin care, digestion, constipation, weight loss, gout

Basil:  stress reliever, clearing your skin 

Blueberries: the highest antioxidant capacity of all fresh fruit, aids in reducing belly fat, neutralizes free radicals, helps promote urinary tract health, preserves vision, helps with heart disease, helps with constipation and digestion
