5 Months Old and 3 Years Old!

We have not been on the blog in a month! I cannot believe it. I said I was going to get started again and then I wait an entire month before posting. We have had more things going on in our little life. Emelia had a hemangioma in her mouth/ lower lip. After seeing an ENT, it was determined that she would need surgery to have it removed. Since we are a bit behind on the blog, I am going to update on the monthly stats and we talk about surgery in the next post.


I cannot believe that Emelia is already almost a half year old?! Where has the time gone? I feel like she has been sick or has had something going on her entire small life, but she is definitely a trooper! She is such a strong little girl and is so resilient to everything. I am one proud mama.





She weighs 13 lbs. At her last appointment, she was still only in the 5th percentile. She still seems small compared to children around her age. She is very long though. She was in the 70th percentile. Not sure where she gets that from. I am only 5' 1 and my husband is only 5' 11.

She is still SO sweet! She is so happy most of the time. She is much more laid back than her sister, but if she is hungry, tired or has a dirty diaper then you better help the sweet child out because her lungs work like a champ. She is grabbing things. She grabs mommy's hair. She is rolling over. She tries to sit up from laying on her back. She lifts her strong head up off the floor and tries to pull all the way up. She chuckles. She does not like rice cereal. She eats about 5 oz every 2-3 hours during the day and then usually sleeps from 8:00-8:30 -- 4:00- 6:00 or 7:00. Not too bad. Its a nice stretch of sleep.




Emma Kate turned 3 years old on January 17th. She wanted to have a princess birthday party. Her daddy said that boys would need to be a part of it, so it needed to be more than just princesses and she settled on "Pirates and Princesses." It actually turned out to be really cute. We had hot dogs, Castle cake, mini cupcakes, ice cream, rice krispy pops (my absolute FAV!), chips, coleslaw, baked beans and potato salad. It turned out pretty yummy as well.




Emma Kate wore a tu-tu that my mom made and her princess tiara. She wanted to wear her dress-up shoes, but honestly I was afraid that she was going to fall and bust her hiney. Since the kids had the jump castle that she got for Christmas to play in, she was fine without the shoes. We played a "Toss the Tiara" game that is similar to hot potato, but every single child was able to win a prize. If you lost (had the tiara in your hand), you were "out" but you got a cute notepad.




I have never seen so many presents. And they were all girly. Babydolls, highchair, clothes, my little ponies, games, letter and sound flashcards, hats, bubble machine, pots and pans. There were so many fun things. We have had so much fun having everything to play with.



All-in-all, the party was a success. I could never have gotten everything decorated and all pretty without my fabulous mama, aunts, and cousin. And my husband and in-laws helped out a great deal as well. Thanks to everyone! Yall are my lifesavers!!
