Happy 4 Months!

I cannot believe that little Emelia is 4 months old already! Where has the time gone? Both my girls are getting so big.

Emelia is really trying to sit up. She rolled over for the first time on January 25th! I was more than thrilled because I got to see her do it. She is grabbing things like my shirt and her burp cloth. She will hold rattles and she laughs at them. She thinks they are funny and I think its a funny thing to watch. Too cute! She looks at her hands and tries to reach and grasp things, but there is still some lack of control on where her hands go. She kicks her feet like she is running in place. It is so much fun watching her and how different she is from her sister (although they are very similar too!). If you lay her on her back, she tries to sit up. She lifts her little head off the floor and pulls upward with all her might. She is a talker - she coos a lot and she smiles SO much! I remember we used to have to really pry a smile out of Emma Kate, but Emelia is just happy about everything. She giggles and especially when she sees her sister. I love how they love one another already!



Emelia is pretty clear with what she wants and needs. She eats 5 oz of Nutramigen between every 2-3 hours during the day because she sleeps pretty well at night. She does tend to get up around 4am to eat, but I cant really complain about that. She was going to bed around 10 and not getting up until about 6 and then would eat and go back to sleep. Now, she wants to go to bed around 9 or 9:30 and gets up around 4, so we will take it...and hope that those sleeping habits to change before too long.




Her Stats were as follows. She weighs 11 pounds and 11 ounces. She has GROWN, which we are thankful for since she has been so sick. She was 25 inches long and her head circumference was 40 1/2. Her doctor says that she is still on the skinny/small side.

When we went for her two month check up she weighed 9 pounds 5 ounces, was 21 1/4 inches long and her head circumference was 38. There were several times when we went and she had lost weight or weighed the same, so of course that concerned me, but we seem to be doing better now, Praise God!
