Last week, we went on vacation. We had such a great time. Emma Kate was just amazed by the ocean. She just had a blast!
Now that we are back, when people ask where we went for vacation, she will tell them "the hotel" or "the beach." It is so hard for me to understand how a little person her age can really answer questions and carry on conversations! It is just so sweet.
We had a water park at our hotel, so we went swimming and played near the pirate ship. Water would fall down into a kiddie pool which was the pirate ship. So neat! Emma Kate liked to take little breaks and have snacks by the pool. Swimming always make her hungry. And I wont lie, it makes me (and always has) hungry too.
We spent a full day out on the beach where she played with an 18 month old who is the son of some friends of ours that we met up with while we were there. They had a blast digging up the dirt and dumping into the buckets and dump truck. Then, Emma Kate would look up at the ocean and say "Let's go!" When the waves would splash onto her legs, she would say "do it again!" It was just so precious to see the excitement in her eyes.
We had seafood buffet one night and it was fabulous. Emma Kate ate more food that night than she has ever eaten in her life! She had two big plates of spaghetti, watermelon, apples, cucumbers, chocolate chip cookie and ice cream. I had gotten a virgin strawberry daquari and she had some of that as well. While she didnt eat any seafood, Jerry and I had enough of that to keep us all full until 11am the next day! Wow!
We also ate at this place called Beach Bummz which we had eaten at last year. It was so much fun because we were able to eat outside and overlook the beach. There was a live band playing and Emma Kate LOVES to see drummers! She was thrilled and kept dancing and singing.
We truly had a blast. We hated to come home, but that is just a part of life....coming back to reality. It was nice to get back in to our normal routine. Next year we will have a vacation of 4!!
