Life's A Beach!

Getting ready to go out on the beach for the first time :)



Well, we had a fabulous time at the beach. It was such a relief to get away from everyday stress and just have some family time. Because we were only there a few days, there was not a ton of time, but I still think we got some great photos. Emma Kate really liked the lazy river and just relaxed and would have probably taken a nap had their not been certain areas that had water that dumped out on you or a waterfall type area. Jerry, being the great daddy/ husband that he is, steered us out of that area so that the little muffin wouldnt get wet. After the lazy river, we ventured out to the ocean and the beach. Emma Kate liked getting her toes in the sand, but was a little nervous with the "moving water" (this is what I called it because she was fine until the waves came splashing up on her).

She really enjoyed having mommy and daddy hold her while she was in the big pool. She was not a huge fan of the 1 ft pool. Actually, she even stomped her foot as if to say "get me outta here!"

We enjoyed some yummy seafood at the Original Benjamins where Emma Kate was able to help mommy pick out a tasty peanut butter treat. Jerry and I pretty much pigged out on crab legs, shrimp, steak, pasta and anything else we could get our hands on. In the mornings for breakfast, we enjoyed eating at one of the pancake houses and we loved Papa's which was a restaurant that was part of the resort. It was very tasty and reasonably priced.
This was definitely a place where we would stay again! Also, since Myrtle Beach is where Jerry and I started dating, we decided to take Emma Kate to see the hotel that we stayed in (he went with his guy friends and I went with my girl friends and we just happen to stay in the same hotel. We were meant to be together) when we were just 18 years old! In case you were wondering, we have been together 11 years :) All in all, our mini vacation was a blast and we cannot wait to go back!
