Fun, Fun, Fun!

We have been having tons of fun! We celebrated my best friends 30th birthday in mid July. Then, we went to a lake birthday party for a friend of Emma Kate's that goes to church with us. Little Carter turned two. Emma Kate kept calling the lake "pool."


Then, we had a date night that included a wedding and a swim party afterward. On Sunday, August 1st, we left for our BIG BEACH VACATION!



We were there Sunday thru Thursday. It was such a blast. Emma Kate really enjoyed the ocean and the beach. She would dig into the dirt and pour it back out. She and I made sand castles and daddy took her into the "pool" (ocean) for a swim. She LOVED the ocean. She would just run straight to it all on her own. We had to stay on our toes.


She had some trouble at first falling asleep in the pack-n-play in a strange (hotel) place. She finally got the hang of it after one nap and one nights rest and was pretty set for the rest of the week.

We got to enjoy some yummy seafood at Captain Benjamin's Seafood Buffet! It was delicious and boy were we stuffed!

Emma Kate started saying Wateh (water) instead of wa-wa while we were at the beach. It was a bittersweet moment. She really is growing up!



A favorite for Emma Kate was playing in the 6 inch kiddie pool or going around with mommy in the lazy river. She also had a lot of fun with daddy while he "buried" her in the sand. There was so much sand on that little girl that we had to give her a bath! Ha!





Everything was so nice and relaxing. It was good to spend quality time with my small family. This was part of the reason that it has taken so long to blog. I love being able to keep up with everything, but lately I have devoted all my spare time to my family. We are now back in business though. I hope everyone had a relaxing summer and around our house, we are definitely looking forward to fall and football season!!
