Happy 1st Birthday!!

Emma Kate had a great first birthday. I am just writing about it because I ended up being sick on Monday (had a work holiday and my mama helped me, thank goodness) and was pretty busy with work during the week.

We went with a Zebra print theme. Most of the decorations, hats, tablecloths and all were made my me, my mama and my mother-in-law (thanks mama!!) Here is a look at some of the decorations.








She was just the cutest little thing. We had all kinds of friends and family there to celebrate her big day! Since Emma Kate shares her special day with my brother, we decided to do snack foods and cake and ice cream. My aunt had gotten her the cutest little outfit for Christmas which she wore and she also got these really cute zebra print boots, but she had so much trouble walking in them that we decided to just go with her flats. In case I forgot to mention, Emma Kate has been walking since she was 11 months and TRYING to WALK (taking steps) since she was about 9 1/2 months.





We played pin the tail on the Zonkey (I drew a zebra based on a donkey cut out that I had and my husband thought it would be funny to call it a zonkey), had a pinata and then just played and chatted with friends.



Emma Kate really enjoyed her birthday cake! We had a big cake for the guests and she had her very own "1" to eat as well. She dug right in and then tried to feed me and her cousin :)











That night we went to dinner with my family to celebrate Jarrett's 21st birthday! What a busy, fun-filled day. Happy 1st Birthday, Emma Kate and Happy 21st Birthday, Jarrett!
